I officiate weddings primarily in the Auckland region, but I am also available to travel to the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions if necessary.
Can you officiate weddings in a church?
Unfortunately, I cannot. Only organisational wedding celebrants in New Zealand can legally officiate a wedding in a church. I can, however, officiate weddings in any other external location as an independent wedding celebrant.
What if I need to change my start time or wedding date due to Covid-19?
I will do my best to work with you to find another suitable date if your wedding date must be moved due to Covid-19. It is highly recommended you have an alternative backup date throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
We are already legally married (but no one knows). Can you still officiate a ceremony?

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a wedding celebrant?
Look for someone who takes the time to get to know you as a couple and truly understands your desires for your special days. Unfortunately, weddings are fraught with details which create quite a bit of headache and anxiety. You should identify early on if a celebrant would assist with reducing some of the stresses based on their demeanor, clear and consistent communication with you, and level of flexibility.
What questions should couples think through before speaking with a celebrant about their wedding?
A couple embarking upon a wedding ceremony should determine the roles which an celebrant would need to play (counselor, co-wedding coordinator, emcee for the wedding party at the reception, vow co-author, etc.) Obviously, it is important to determine the budget with which you feel comfortable when engaging a celebrant. Lastly, you will need to determine the type of tone you desire expressed in your wedding ceremony. Do you desire an overtly religious ceremony? Should it be casual or more sophisticated? How complex or simple do you want the format to be?
Do I have to apply for a marriage license?
Yes, you do. The couple must apply for a marriage license at least 3 days (not including weekends) before the ceremony, otherwise your celebrant may not be able to legally officiate the wedding. Information about this can be found here.
